ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited Veterinary Diagnostic Testing

DNATech performs ISO/IEC 17025 accredited veterinary diagnostic testing, ensuring technical competence and the highest standards of quality, accuracy and reliability.

All tests listed below are performed in accordance with Technical Accreditation Annex L0873-1.

Equine Piroplasmosis

Test Method: ELISA

  • Detection of:
    • • Anti-Babesia caballi antibodies
    • • Anti-Theileria equi antibodies
  • Sample required:
    • • Blood collected in a plain blood collection tube (without anticoagulant) or a heparin tube.

West Nile Virus

Test Method: ELISA

  • Detection of:
    • • West Nile Virus IgM antibodies
  • Sample required:
    • • Blood collected in a plain blood collection tube (without anticoagulant) or a heparin tube.

Equine Herpesvirus (EHV-1 & EHV-4)

Test Method: PCR

  • Samples accepted:
    • • Dry nasopharyngeal swab (preferred sample for both symptomatic and asymptomatic animals);
    • • Blood collected in an EDTA tube (not recommended for asymptomatic animals).

Sample Handling and Transport

To ensure sample integrity, all specimens must be kept refrigerated until receipt by the laboratory.

When samples are transported by DNATech personnel, appropriate refrigerated conditions are ensured by the laboratory. Otherwise, the client is responsible for maintaining the cold chain throughout transport.

Information Required

Please include the following information with every sample submission:

  • Microchip number
  • Owner and/or holding information (name and location)
  • Clinical history and suspected diagnosis

DNATech is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all information obtained or generated during the provision of its veterinary diagnostic laboratory services.

All information is treated as strictly confidential, except where disclosure is required by law or by the competent authorities. In such cases, DNATech will inform the client of any information that must be disclosed in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
