Requirements for Accreditation Analysis NP EN ISO/IEC 17025

  • Analyses for Piroplasmosis Research (anti-Babesia caballi antibodies and anti-Theileria equi - ELISA) and West Nile Fever Virus IgM Research (ELISA): The blood sample should be taken into a dry tube or heparin, which should be kept refrigerated until arrival at the laboratory. If the sample is transported by DNATech personnel, its refrigeration is guaranteed by the Laboratory; otherwise, the customer must ensure that the sample is refrigerated on its way to the laboratory.
  • Tests for Herpesvirus Type I and Type IV (PCR) At least one of the following samples may be submitted:
    • • Dry nasopharyngeal swab (sample of choice for both symptomatic and asymptomatic animals);
    • • Fragments of fresh placenta or vital organs;
    • • Cerebrospinal fluid;
    • • Blood collected in an EDTA tube (not recommended in asymptomatic animals).

All samples should be kept refrigerated until arrival at the laboratory. If the sample is transported by DNATech staff, refrigeration is guaranteed by the laboratory; otherwise, the client must ensure the sample is refrigerated during transport.

It is also important to provide the following information:
• Microchip;
• Owner/farm information (name and location);
• Clinical suspicions.
