The hematology service for veterinary clinics enables the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the blood and the organs involved in its formation. It uses equipment prepared to analyze samples from different species and process around 120 hemograms per hour, working with biopathologists who ensure the accuracy of the results.
BIOCHEMISTRY
In the field of veterinary biochemical analysis, the equipment is calibrated considering the hemolysis of the samples, carrying out complementary parameters to validate the results.
Hemostasis
Within the framework of coagulation, the study of veterinary hemostasis is performed, correlating the results obtained with the physiological and pathophysiological functioning of the animal.
ENDOCRINOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY
The Veterinary Endocrinology and Toxicology service diagnoses disorders in the functioning of the endocrine system. Our veterinary clinical analysis laboratory uses specific equipment and kits for animal species and provides all the specialized technical support to ensure the reliability of the results.
IMMUNOLOGY
This Veterinary Immunology service guarantees specialized technical support in the assessment of techniques and tests and in the interpretation of results. Each day, hundreds of cases of infections by bacteria, fungi, viruses and protozoa are handled by our professionals.
MICROBIOLOGY
We carry out laboratory studies with microbiology techniques of infectious diseases of bacterial and mycological origin, by means of direct morphological examination, isolation and identification of the microorganism. The process is automated, which guarantees quality and promptness. Culture results are guaranteed within 48 hours.
MOLECULAR BIOLOGY
A pioneer in the implementation of real-time PCR in the veterinary clinical analysis segment, this service is capable of producing totally reliable diagnoses of infectious micro-organisms. The Molecular Biology unit is versatile and is committed to innovation through new molecular analysis and genetic screening.
HISTOPATHOLOGY
The Histopathology unit is dedicated to the study of the function, structure and origin of tissues and how they are related in structural and functional terms. Using sophisticated state-of-the-art equipment, results are guaranteed within three to four days, always under the technical supervision of a histopathologist, who makes a decisive contribution to the final diagnosis.
CYTOLOGY
In cases of dermatopathy or evaluation of the cellular component of different tissues and fluids, the tests performed by DNAtech’s veterinary cytology service obtain the best results, as a result of our high standards, rigor and professionalism.
RADIOIMMUNOASSAY
DNAtech is the only veterinary clinical analysis laboratory in Portugal certified by the General Directorate of Health to perform the RIA technique, which allows the quantification of substances in the order of nano to picograms. It allows the detection of any biological molecule as long as there is a specific receptor, and the molecule can be labelled.
ALLERGOLOGY
DNAtech’s Allergology service performs tests to identify the allergens responsible for atopic dermatitis in dogs, cats and horses. The patented Heska technology makes it possible to present detailed, reliable and decisive results to veterinarians, avoiding false positives.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
